About Dark Magician Girl
Her backstory goes deeper than that, as it is revealed in season 5 of the anime that she is a Ka, a spirit being essentially. In the anime season, she's the Ka of Mana, the apprentice magician to Mahad. Mahad being the court magician to the Pharaoh Atem.
Now, spoilers for a show that's been over for decades, but Mahad is eventually revealed to have died and fused with his own Ka spirit, the Illusion Magician to form the Dark Magician. While it's not stated that Mana does so as well. Her fate is left ambiguous. Mana, like Mahad, is there to welcome Atem into the afterlife at the end of the series.
Which means its not a stretch that Mana also fused upon her death with her Ka, the Dark Magician Girl to become...The Dark Magician Girl. I know its confusing.
But think of it as Dark Magician Girl (the spirit) + Mana (The Apprentice) = Dark Magician Girl (the character seen in modern times as a card in Yugi's deck and in season 4 and Yugioh GX as her own being) it is this character that I'm infatutated with and I think she owes a lot of her personality to Mana. It's also why I call her Mana for short sometimes.
The card Palladium Oracle Mana further supports this.
But this means this card is her as well and frankly any variant of the Dark Magician Girl is also the same spiritual fusion of Mana and Dark Magician Girl (Ka), such as these. Dark Magician Girl, being a popular card from the original anime has had quite a few variants throughout the card game that are meant to be her in essence but look different. Here's some examples
Notably this is not true for the "Gagaga Girl" or "Magi Magi Magician Gal", despite looking remarkably similar. XYZ cards don't exist in the main continuity and Yugioh Zexal seems to be set in a new canon. (I admittedly haven't seen Yugioh Zexal so I might be wrong but that is the impression I get)
